Netscape 7.1

I have used Netscape 7.1 for months, and it's great! A few days ago, the personal toolbars buttons that I had set, just went poof! and I could not reset them...AND all of my bookmarks disappeared. I thought it was a glitch, so I defragged, cleaned, uninstalled, reinstalled, I even did several restores. Then I tried the 7.2; same problem. After all that grief, uninstalled 7.2, and redownloaded 7.1, but it hung at the gecko sign when installed . Finally I used the nssetup for 7.1 from a cd I had burned. It reinstalled, but the toolbar issue remained the same. What's up with Netscape, and does anyone have a solution? I miss being able to drag url's for quick access. Any help would be appreciated.

First do a Virus and Spyware scan.


It could just be a glitch and you may have corrupt files.

One way to try to clean it would be to uninstall it then use a program such as ACE Utilities to clean the registry and unused files.

Then try installing Netscape again.

Thanks degsy. I ran the virus scan the first day, and several times since. I am perplexed to say the least. I am ready to gut the "puter and start from scratch, but I am afraid that would be wasted time. Thanks for the reply, all suggestions are more than appreciated. Sandy
