I saw this on another board, and I'm not sure how I can use it but I have this gut feeling that some day, it could come in handy so I went and put it in my favorites! It's apparently a free program that allows you to convert scanned docs to text, and then edit. http://www.netprosweb.com/utility_017.htm

Harrie thats one of the things that I have had problems with, ocr software leaves a lot to be desired so maybe later i will check out this software

Actually OmniPage is fairly good OCR software. It's not at all free. But as long as you get a good scan it does about a 90% job of reading text.
