I work with a coworker who is the publisher of a weekly newspaper. We use Quark on a Mac to produce and edit the newspaper. However recently on editing a page with jpeg images, some odd behavior of forcing Quark to crash when attempting to 'get' image for the page. The image in question was a jpeg image sent by email on a PC and then transferred to the MAC. Could the jpeg been infected with the jpeg virus and is somehow causing the crash on the MAC. And if so, how can it be remedied? The page in question has been completely deleted and recreated and still has the same effect. Quark was reinstalled and still crashes. The malformation seems to be resident now in memory.

On testing other pages and issues, it does not crash. It is only with this one image and page. We have an immediate deadline for this issue, so if someone might have some ideas, please email Terry at spirit@afsc.org:wave:

I suppose anything is possible.

Why on earth are using a jpg file for a publication anyway?
