Hi.
I have a Win98 laptop that has been used successfully for quite a while to access the internet.
I did do some manipulation to try to get it to work with wireless setup, but not sure if following problem was there before I did this.
The problem is that my IE browser toolbar is missing! That is I have no line that has the Back - Stop - Refresh ................ and URL address line.
I cannot figure out how to get it.
Help!
Other than this toolbar line(s) missing, internet pages come up ok.
Thx.

When you RIGHT mouse lick on the icon bar do you see a pop-up menu to turn on other icon bars?

paulleb,
What icon bar are you talking about?
I have nothing at the top, other than opening line saying, for example "Welcome to MSN.COM", and then the web page. No Favorites, control buttons, etc. etc.

I recommend you reinstall a new version of Internet Explorer. Above is a link. After reinstallation all modified registry keys and settings surrounding IEXPLORE will default - Giving you your Toolbar.

Here is a link to a quickfix for a problem that sounds vaguely similar. Buttons missing etc... Due to spyware.
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/
Download and doubleclick to add reg keys and values.
Get an anti-spyware tool.

Now you are confusing me Ernz.............. am I supposed to do the first suggestion (downloading new IE), or the 2nd thing (trying the quick fix)?

Bob,
Open IE and look at the very top bar you should see File, Edit, View, Fav, Tools, Help. Click on "View" and then click "Toolbars" a menu will slide out and make sure to click and see a check mark beside "Standard Buttons". If you can't get that far then post back.

You can do an Internet Explorer repair from Add/Remove. What version of Windows are you using?

Ok, I resolved this problem.
Somebody on another forum told me to hit F11, and basically this did the trick! Thx for everyones help.

Well yes pressing F11 will resolve the prob. F11 is a shorcut key for most windows apps but in IE all it does is display the current website in full screen mode. However in that mode you should still see "File, Edit, View, Fav, Tools, Help." unless you had "toolbar" disabled in "View to start with. When in full screen mode you can just right click the blank space where the toolbar would be and click "toolbar" and File, Edit, View, Fav, Tools, Help." will still show up. I'm glad you got that fixed because it can be rather annoying ehh.
