View Full Version : MS Project 98 Recurring Tasks

I am not sure if I am entering something wrong but my problem is as follows:
When I enter a recurring task in Project 98 and allocate a resource, the calculations show that the resource is "busy" (this is also reflected in the costs) for the total period from when the task is first carried out until the last occurence happens. e.g. an hourly task once a week for a month has a duration of approx. 20 days instead of 4 or 5 hours.
Can anybody point me in the right direction so that I can use recurring tasks? or is this a "bug" (I think this also happened in Project 95). Having read the Project Enhancement Guide for Project 2000, it does not seem that MS have identified this issue.
Thanx

Having had no reply to this issue, am I to assume that no one in this forum makes use of Project?? If anyone can tell me where I can try to resolve this issue I would appreciate it.
Happy New Year to all!

Sorry Franky, I don't have any experience with Project, plus being in the midst of my 3 week summer break, I haven't been able to do any digging around the web for you.
Have you looked at the MS knowledge base?

I have tried MS Knowledge base, with no luck. I will just have to continue in my quest!

I have subsequently found out that this is just the way that Project calculates and we just have to live with it!
