This is a shot-in-the-dark question. Is there a good way of recording through a microphone in MIDI format (or any other format) to the PC? If I wanted to record live singing, etc., to the PC (Win 98) is there some software that makes this possible?

Windows sound recorder will do the job for 30 second bursts (in WAV format). Start>Programs>Accessories>Multimedia>Sound Recorder.
I use Goldwave (http://www.goldwave.com) (shareware) though.
