My mouse likes to freeze....(and not just cuz it's winter..)

My mouse stops on the screen randomly...
never a specific amount of time after turning it on,
never during a specific application,
and sometimes it's accompanied by no keyboard response as well,
sometimes not.
If I restart, it's back again.
I've checked the connections, and cleaned it out..to no effect.
I'm desperate to solve this VERY FRUSTRATING problem!!
any advice is welcomed!

Hi there.

I had the same problem not too long ago, and it turned out being that either the video card in the computer needed pdating, or the soundcard, I can't remember which one it was now!! But if you click start = settings = control panel, then double click on System Properties, you can search through that, and maybe update your sound or video card.

My guess is a video card. A few years ago I had this problem on two different computers. Changed the video cards to a better quality with more memeory on the card and never had the problem again.
