I tried installing another hard drive but it wouldnt initialise because i dont know how to wipe it properly... it was a pc hard drive before but my OS 9 (20GB) hard drive was working fine and i was about to install OS X. The next day i turned it on ready to install OS X and nothing. The hard drive spins up and theres power to the board and the fan and Dvd rom spins up with the disk but nothing at all. There is no boot up nor display of any kind. There is just a blank scree!.. ive tried both drives on there own, removing the battery and holding the buttons on the board still nothing. Is there a bios like with pc's that you can access for the hardware?.. Can someone help me please!, and how can i wipe the pc drive so that i could install the new OS onto that then i would be able to take a look at the other drive? Your replies will be much appreciated thankyou!:( :upset:

You'll need to boot off of a Mac OS CD and wipe the drive first. There is no bios on a Mac like there is for PCs. Also.. what G3 do you have? there are corruption issues when you switch hard drives in a rev. 1 Blue and White G3. How to tell if you've got a rev. 1 B&W G3 -- inside where the drive mounts are, if there is a drive mount that would allow you to stack two hard drives then it's a rev. 2 if there are only single spots (3 of them) for hard drives then it' a rev. 1.
