Hello all. I have some questions about my girlfriends computer...
I am somewhatof a noob about these types of things so any comments would be much appreciated.
I have installed Diablo 2 on her comp and am having problems...
the vid card is a SiS 530 (nothing great =/ ) and it has Directx 9 installed but everytime I try to run the game I get a critcal error about Direct Draw.... this is the noob part =/ I cant seem to figure out where to find any info on this and it doesnt help that every time I try to browse I get kicked with a message stating " Explorer has performed an illeagal operation" this is certainly frustrating, but im sure someone can help me out heh. Again, anything that anyone could help me with would be great. Thank you.

Is this a single player or multiplayer install? The min system requirements for either are as follows
single player system:Windows® 2000*, 95, 98, or NT 4.0 Service Pack 5
Pentium® 233 or equivalent
32 MB RAM
650 MB available hard drive space
4X CD-ROM drive
DirectX™ compatible video card
Multiplayer system:64 MB RAM
Open Battle.net game Creators and TCP/IP game Hosts: 128MB RAM recommended (256MB RAM in games with over 4 players)
950 MB available hard drive space
28.8 Kbps or faster modem
Up to 8 Players over TCP/IP Network or Battle.net® (Requires low-latency Internet connection with support for 32-bit applications)
Keep in mind these are the min system req's the more the better. Your system appears to be well within these spec's except you didn't lest if service pack 5 was on it or not.

yea the vga is onboard. when I try to load it says there is a problem with finding DirectDraw, well asl far as I know the vid card has directdraw or at least it says it does...
I talked to a friend of mine and he said that the vid card may not be a gaming type of card... could this be true?
and the Service pack 5 deal, does that have something to do with the Windows NT 4.0?

Seems to me that this is either a driver issue with the "onboard" graphics or that directdraw isn't installed. I went to the SiS website and couldn't even find drivers for that card or onboard vid or chipset or whatever it is you are running. Try making sure the latest drivers are installed and also you may wish to reintall DirectX. Good luck with that.

I don't know about diablo II requirement ... but I think diablo games are to heavy for u'r vid card ... or ... how about directX test? did is there any problem with u'r vid card? or the directX is the problem
please test the game with the vid card (non onboard)
thx
