Cant download movies from the interenet...

When I try to downoad movies on my imac off the internet it lets me download it but when I g? How can I fix it?o to play it it says something about the sound being bad and it wont play it. Why is it doing this

It kind of all depends upon what you're downloading from where and what OS you're running, what browser, what version of quicktime......

What type of movies? What software are you using to download?

It's OS 8 I'm using internet explorer 4.5, just movie clips off the internet.

give the link to the clip so we can look at it. Might be something different about them. might need an update, who knows until we know exactly what file you are looking at. Don't post the link if it is an adult or it is really a full movie.

It is possible your software is just to old. OS8 and IE4.5 are at least 3 years old. If you're trying to download an view new movie files they most likely require a newer version of Quicktime. That would mean you need to most likely update the OS to a minimum of 9.2.2.

The software is probably missing the proper codec to present the image/video properly. You would need to update your software.
