View Full Version : really bad ping in counter-strike

Lately my ping has had huge spikes and then stays up in the 400-600s. A while ago it would be around 30-70 but all of a sudden I start getting these huge spikes. I've tried unplugging the router and adjusting visual appearence for performence. I don't know what else to do. Why was it fine than all of a sudden it jumps around and everything. Can sombody please help me. TIA.

how long has this been going on, it could be increase traffic.

If your using broadband your probably sharing the connection so at times it will get bogged down. If you want to test your ping go here www.pcpitstop.com (http://www.pcpitstop.com). Click on Internet speed on the left and you will see the ping test.

it might have to do with your distance from the server box, do u play in one server? or many?
the box may be down or not wokring properly.
it could also be your "choke" or "loss"
type net_graph 3 to see both of these and your FPS
