I personally lean towards the hp not that familiar with the other brand. They are both about the same - except for size. However, why do you want the laptop? It makes alot of difference when deciding which is better.

The $300.00 difference seems to be 15" vs. 17" screens. Up to you what's important, I guess.

That is why more info is needed.

If the laptop will be used as a laptop, the 17 inch screen is too big to carry around and it gets very hot with poor battery life.

If the laptop will be used as a desktop, then the 17 inch would work better since the screen size and keyboard size is just about normal for a desktop.

and if it's primarily going to be used in one location (at home or in the office, say) then bare in mind laptops are a lot more hassle to upgrade. Not impossible, just a LOAD of hassle.

Good luck and happy spending

:wipes eyes:
Aren't they BOTH laptops?
;)

Comparing the two, the difference really is just the screen size and GPU (Nvidia Vs ATI).

Unless there is a huge difference in size/weight/battery life I would go for the HP.

they are both laptops but some really need to be desktops. I have heard and read alot of complaints about the 17 inch screens from those who expected to use them as laptops.

I can say this. I've never owned a lappy, but I worked on one awhile back that a new HP with a 17" screen. It was very heavy and unballanced. I also worked on an older Lappy with a 15" screen. It actually weighed less and was alot more balanced and felt much better. (as for carrying around, I'd much prefer the 15" model's.)

Hi

Both Laptops are fine however 17" TFt Screen on the laptop uses more power so reduces batt life span and they get very hot; also hevey to lump around, the 15" screen is tried and trsted and has been for 3/4 years now. If your carrying it then size does matter; also the £300 save can be used for more relaxing issues.

That about all I can say...

"Badways waits for his new Fragbook with 25inch screen" Well not really but that would rewl. Sorry that doesn't really help the poster as far as his question goes but the screen size debate is alot like anything else its all subjective.
