I have Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 on my pc. It has a feature called "buffer under run proctection". Approximately 25% of the cd's I burn have buffer under run errors on them even though I have this protection turned on.

Does anyone know why this would happen?

My pc...

Dell Dimension 8200
P4 1.7 ghz
512 mb RDRAM
Win XP Home

Buffer underruns happen when the drive supplying the data can not keep up with the burner. To make use of the "Buffer underrun protection" your burner must also support it.

To stop the underrun problems, burn your CDs at a slower speed.....

Buffer Under Run works for only on CD burner drives that support it.

EDIT**Guess i need to learn to read.

Does anyone know the make of the 16x/10x/40x burner Dell offers?

My paper work doesn't state the brand/model!

I have this same problem. It was suggested to me that it is more foolproof to create a CD image to your hard drive and then burn to a CD. I also burned at a lower speed. This seems to work much better.
