I read somewhere that there was a way to disable Internet Explorer so that it would never run for any purpose again until you enabled it. If I remember right, it was a string located within a .ini file somewhere. Can someone please help? I am a big fan of Firefox and wish to never run IE again on my PC.

Actually, you probably want IE to be active for Updates and Patches because it is integrated into Windows/Explorer.

That being said, IS there a way to disable it? Maybe, I can enable it to get updates periodically, then disable it again when I am done. Just curious anyways. I probably won't run my computer that way for very long. Thanks for the suggestion though, degsy.

You can set permissions on the folder/executable so that only certain members or groups can access it.
or you can goto Set Program Defaults via Add/Remove Programs and set Firefox as default and Disable Internet Explorer.
Windows will then automatically remove (hide) references to Internet Explorer.
