OK, after installing Works 2002, I go to run the program and I get this:
"Unable to display EULA, the EULA must be accepted before Works can run. Please reinstall Works."
So I reinstall Work, same thing. I uninstall, delete all registry keys, delete common files, and reinstall: same thing. I get online and find MS's KB article about this. I do everything there. The same thing still happens.
Does anyone know a workaround to this?? Thanks in advance for any advice you may have!

did works come with the computer you are trying to install it on?

It was software that came with a new gateway.
I figured it out though. I had to install an ealier version of Works, then just upgrade. It got the job done!

Glad you got it working, however, if it came with another computer and it is still on that computer, then what you did is against microsofts Eula. The reason why it was not working to begin with is it is oem for gateway.

Yes, unfortunately MS does have a nice restrictive EULA. I took it off the other computer long ago.
Why would gateway OEM screw it up? Do they really insist it be used on only a gateway computer?!

In alot of cases the software that comes with a computer is only supposed to be for that specific computer - no others.

How on earth do they do that?! Is it based on a physical component of the computer? Or something in the OS?

good question - Computer manufacturers get oem software and in most cases get custom modifications to prevent piracy.
