Lock ups on loading new memory

Hey Guys and Dolls. Nice to see this forum and be able to use it. tnx

My problem: When adding new memory to my existing memory, I read all memory, comes up into windows and locks up.

1. Status: I am using the same memory for the last couple of years and it is working just fine all the time. I have 2 strips of 72 Pin Simms @8 x 32 for a total of 65536K.

2. I want to add 2 more of the exact same strips for a total of 131072K memory.

3. All strips are inter changable and work at 65536K

Can some one work out this problem with me. I know computers, as I did build this one. But evadently, I dont know it all.

Please advise and may thanks. Jon r. kb3xy@skyride.net

then we will need more info about your motherboard - Most of what you gave previously pertains to the cpu. Maybe in the bios?

Also, you may want to go to the mobo manufacturers site and update your bios before you go much further.
