Hi,
When rebooting my comp it only goes as far as the IBM logo screen then hangs. Then I have to power off completely to get windows to load. Anyone have any idea what to do? Thanks.

Sounds like a hardware conflict. Once you get it to boot up in Windows, right click on "My Computer" then to Properties, then to Device Manager. Are there any "Yellow" or "red" marks next to any devices? Or something listed under "Unknown"

I have the same problem. How do you get it 'to boot it up in Windows'?

Switch the computer on and press F8 this will give you a sup menu ; depending on your operating system you have varius levels;

Some have Last known good profile

All have Safe mode. Go into safe mode and chekc you Hardware for any conflicts. a little trick I do is to remove one item say usb port or serial port; then re-boot this will cause windows to rebuilt it's driver list and I have in the past fixed many a simple unknown problem this way. go on givce it ago.

Also look for any errors in your event logs.

The readme.txt file in my start up disk for Gateway Windows 98 SE says:
"After the computer restarts but before windows begins to load, hold down the CTRL key until the Microsoft Windows 98 Startup Menu appears. (If you are running Windows 95, press the F8 key at the "Starting Windows 95" prompt.)".
