MSN Messenger Problemo

I did practically all the tweaks in the windows XP tweaks and tips thread, and I was wondering if any of them cause msn messenger to not work anymore. It still comes up but when I try to sign in it says that there was a problem connecting you to msn messenger. My internet is on btw. :fyi:

Please somebody help. I can't access email either. Is it one of the administrative services or something that lets e-mail and messeger run?? I need help.
