Java and Mircosoft Works

I am having so many problems right now! I need help. I hope I am posting this in the right forum if not, can you please direct me to someone who can help?

First problem is Java. I read a post from an earlier time on this and tried some of the things sugggested. The links to check and see if my Java is working and a Automatic Scan and Download for the Lastest Java Sun Updates. Neither of these worked for me. The links to test to see if my Java was working immediately came back with an internet explorer error and shut everything down. I have been noticing this when I try to do anything that concerns my java (pogo.com, and even clicking on "tools" in the tool bar and going down to "Sun Java Consol". Then the Automatic Sun Java Scan came back to me with this error:We encountered an issue while trying to automatically install Java™ software onto your machine. As a result, Java software was not installed properly.
I can't get into any files concerning Java. If I go to the Control Panel and click on "Java Plug-In" nothing loads. I thought that maybe if I reinstalled Java it might help. I tried to uninstall it but I got a error saying that Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.

The the other problem I have been having I have noticed on several programs including Trillian and Microsoft Works. It tells me that the application or DLL C:/Program Files/microsoft works/workssrc.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

I don't even know where to begin to go to fix any of this. I am completely computer illiterate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi casi, let's get rid of the hijacker on your PC and then pick the thread up here again if necessary.
