Hi there and welcome.
Sounds like Windows is not seeing the drive.
To enable more efficient help to be given, we'll need a bit more info from you...
What version of Windows?
What addidtional software/hardware changes did you make before this happened?
How long ago did they disappear?

Thank you for your interest in my problem smurfy. Currently I am useing Windows Millenium Edition. This happen almost 2-3 months ago. I haven't made any software or hardware changes on my computer. The last thing I remember I did when it dissappeared was quick restore.

OK, I'm about to move this topic to the Windows ME forum which is more specific to the problem.
I'm guessing that the DVD drive was added after you purchased the PC so that the quick restore disk you have does not account for it.
There are one of 2 possible solutions -
1) BIOS setup - the IDE channel that the DVD drive is connected to has been set to "none" which means at a basic hardware level, your PC does not even know it has a DVD drive.
2) The drive is enabled in BIOS but Windows was loaded without it and is now confused. This will probably require a registry search to fix which is slightly dangerous but if it causes problems you still have a partially functional system restore at your disposal to get you back where you are now.
