Hey...

Well, I've got a problem, I get this error message eveytime I'm trying to install/remove few applications, I have detected the error with installing Worms World Party Demo, trying to remove Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds trial, and installing The Sims: Livin'large expansion... I'm not sure, but could the problem have something to do with the installation wizard, it is InstallShiel Wizard in every of those programs.. :(

Oh, and the error window itself:

------
Unhandled Exception

Error number: 0x80070725
description: RPC-base version isn't valid/doesn't qualify (free translation from my Finnish Windows)

Setup will now terminate.

OK ;)
-------

So, then the program just shuts down. :/

I'd really appreciate any help. :)

Thanks :)

Hi Monterra,

First of all great post. You gave a super description of the problem
with a wealth of pertinent data to provide a possible fix.

Now the bad news.

Not once have I considered any "game" an application. They are
an entity unique to themselves in the computer software world.
That said, whether a game, or an application, uninstalling should
never be handled by Microsoft nor the game or program's uninstall
script.

It (uninstalling) provides more headaches than probably any other
common program call (well maybe scandisk runs a close second).

To uninstall anything from your computer you need to do this with a
third party(fancy name for it doesn't belong to Microsoft) program.

I've mentioned it here before and Mcafee's Uninstaller does an excellent
job. Not only does it uninstall with precision but it has other functions
within it as well. One of which is a very nice Registry cleaner that
really keeps a machine at top performance.

Thanks... :)

Well, I've always installed/removed programs/games with their own install programs, haven't got this problem before... Now, I downloaded McAfee UI, but its really weird... How on earth I'm supposed to remove anything with it? ;) (and now, how can I remove itself?)
