MESSAGE ERRORS and OTHER ERRORS

Hi. On the Dell Optiplex GX110 I am getting an error when it first starts up about an EMM386 not installed, page frame base address.The other problem I'm having is that there are errors with installing some software (newer software having to do with math and typing). It says:
Error Starting Program
The MSVCP60.DLL file is linked to missing export MSVCRT.DLL:_lc_collate_cp ...and...
a device attached to this system is not functioning.

I have looked in the device manager. It says
? Other Devices

? Multimedia Audio Device

? PCl Ethernet Controller

? PCl System Management Bus

The sound has does not work on the computer. I have gone to dell support and downloaded the audio driver for it (I hope the right one), but that did not work. I'm not sure where to go from here or what to do.

You should know that I just partitioned and formated and reinstalled the OS on this computer recently. It was given to the school by a business, we did not need their info on it. :eek:
Please Help ASAP we need the computer for class.

Did you get any Recovery CDs or Restoration disks with your computer ?

Wainui, We did not get a disk w/ the computer, but what we did to wipe it was to use a win 98 boot disk and then installed win 98. That is the highest OS the school has.
