MP3 problem (possibly caused by Winamp)

While I'm here, I might as well ask this one little question. For some reason Winamp (I assume - just recently upgraded to version 5.04) has messed around with some (a large number, I should say) of my MP3 files, and added ID3 tag entries that I didn't want there. Of course it's only a small problem, as long as the tracks still play OK, but it makes my playlist look not so pretty, and I'm a bit of a control freak about that, I have to admit. Just to ask if there's some way to reset the files en masse to get rid of these unwanted ID3 tags?????

Are you sure it has changed them?

Your MP3's will have most probably had them before.
What you can do is change the sort method used.

In Winamp click the column heading to change the sort type.

No, they didn't have them before. I prefer to just have the whole filename appear in the playlist and not have it messed around by Winamp - like I said, I'm a control freak about this. So somehow or other, all these unwanted tags have been added. I can't think what else could have done it. I suppose that it could have been Windows Media Player that got some ideas above its station.

OK, but that doesn't make any difference to my unprettified playlist. The order of the files is just the way I want it. Well, if anyone has an idea what's happened there, and time to kill, drop us a line, would you? Thanx,

Heatopher

Persistence

So, doesn't anyone have a suggestion for how I can get rid of unwanted ID3 tags without having to modify every single file manually? Please save my index finger from unnecessary arthritis!!!
