Can load on a used copy of MS Access?

I am going to purchase a used Microsoft Office97 from a friend. He is no longer using it. I loaded MS Access on my computer. I typed in the CDKey number when I installed it. When I tried to bring it up I got the message "Microsoft Access can't start because there is no licence for it on this machine." Will that number only work on the original machine it was installed on? Can I put it on mine? How?

I don't know if this will help any but I had an evaluation copy of MS Office 97 which I used for years when out of the blue I got the same message. :eek: I just reinstalled Office 97 and it worked fine after that. :D
