G3 - "Alternate Volume Header Block" error - HELP!

When shutting down or starting up I keep getting the error message - "Alternate Volume Header Block (16,065)". I can't seem to fix it using Norton Utilities...is this serious? What exactly is the problem?

Using OS 9.2 on Blue G3....any help would be appreciated - thanks!

I wouldn't be surprised if Norton Utilities caused the problem in the first place.

Uninstall it and use Disk Warrior.

I don't have Nortons installed on the Mac...only boot up from the disk when i need to run scans, fix things, etc...is there something wrong with Norton's?

Is there a link for Disk Warrior?

Thanks for replying.

Actually I only just noticed you are running OS9, Nortons actualy works to some extent on that, it's OSX that is extremely allergic to Nortons. You have a number of options including using an external hd to boot to and then run disk utility and repair disk on the original boot drive. Or you could try posting in the Symantec forum, or you could try disk warrior...hold on i'll check if it works on OS9......Hmm I think it does, here is the link, but check around for the best price - try Amazon:

I hope that helps.
Jim.
