CD burner

I tried burning audio CD by using Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4.02.
At first I successfully copied a CD by using CD Copier option (I have a DVD player and a CD player and I copied the whole CD); then I wanted to select certain songs by using Audio CD option, I copied the songs to my hard disk and dragged them to the lower half of the screen, then I selected 'Test and create CD' under 'Create Options' and 'Close session and leave CD open' under 'Write method'. Clicked the 'Create CD' button, everything seemed to be going well until it has written about 50% of the total, then my target CD was ejected and I was asked to insert a blank CD again. Bear in mind that the total time was only 60 minutes and then I dropped it under to 30 minutes and still it happened.
I started with a blank CD and was thus wasted, I have wasted up to now 6 CDs.
I know you experts can help.
Thank you very much!!

It may be a conflict between the software & your CD writer.

Try updating to 4.05. http://www.roxio.com/en/support/ecdc/ecdcupdates.jhtml

Also check to see if you have the latest firmware for your drive. http://www.roxio.com/en/jhtml/cdrdat...database.jhtml http://www.nero.com/en/firmware.htm

Hi, Degsy,
This Adaptec is driving me crazy.
I was able to select songs and burnt them to a CD, but I heard no sound.
I tried to play the CD that I just burnt, the visual graphic was there, the thing was playing, but I heard no music. I played the songs from my hard disk, same thing.
What could have gone wrong there?
Thanks again for your help.

Hi there.
Can you hear any sound from your PC?
Can you play any other music CDs in Media Player?

No, I didn't hear anything in my PC.
However, I was able to play a normal audio CD.

Open up the Sound Applet, (Speaker Icon in System Tray)

Make sure that the Wave voulme level is not muted and at an appropriate level.

By the way, I was able to play a normal audio CD.

Where the Clock is.

Or goto the Control Panel, goto the Sound (or Multimedia) section, click on the Audio tab and click on the Volume button where your sound card is listed.

I didn't have the volume muted.
I played the burnt CD on a regular CD player with my stereo set, the counter was going but the speakers were silent.

Do other sounds from your PC work. MP3, RealAudio, WAV files etc.

I can play any audio CDs which I bought from music stores on my PC but not the one I created.

I am now trying to burn it by Windows Media Player, while I was copying the songs to the target CD, I got another error message:

Wmburn
Wmburn has caused an error in ACMWRAPPERSERVER.DLL.
Wmburn will now close.
If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer.

The version I use is 7.01.00.3055
