Nero 6 error message

Have just moved on to Nero 6 because of it's supposed ability to burn DVD's. I am using "Nero Start Smart" and when I select DVD at the top (rather than CD) and then select "Photo & Video" and then choose "Make your own DVD-Video" I get the following error message "Unable to initialize the Nero API. Unspecified error"

Can anyone tell me what the problem is.
