monitor thread traffic

Straight to the point:

I think the creator of each thread should have the option to view who has viewed their thread and when. When someones thread said 135 views and 0 posts, I think anyone in that situation would like to be able to see if any of the usually helpful mods has viewed their thread and had no input to give.

I just wanna say right off the bat, if you disagree, tell me why. Don't get offended, tell me my ideas are stupid.. don't be an ass.

Anyone see any downside to this idea?

Better yet, anyone agree with me?

Howdy:

Why does it matter if it has been viewed 135 times or 10 times or just once?? I would think, if someone viewed it and had a "fix" or suggestion for a fix they would post it whether they be a mod or just a member !!

Well, it helps to know who views a lot of threads and posts answers almost never. I would like to know anyways.

vBulletin is bought in software for the bulletin board/forums.

Although some mods are available not everything that would be wanted could be added.

Ideas and suggestions are welcome but remember that it would be the owner and administrator, MishY, who would be put in the position of adding these changes, which may or not be possible due to the forum scripting and copyright.

What i'm saying is that it's a good suggestion, but think that if you were running this board how would you do it?

Also consider how that would work if a users viewing those threads are not logged in or have Invisibility enabled.

What happened, you had another thread nobodys replied to? IMO, I don't think it is anyones business whose threads I looked at and did not replied to. It is a terrible idea.

Well, i just thought that it would be cool in case you never got your question answered you could see who looked at it, then if someone like lets say degsy never looked at it you could as him to look at for you.

How would you ask, it is improper to pm him or most members asking for help? Questions could be read just by placing the mouse cursor over the title. It will popup in a box. It is quicker to review questions that way and does not count towards views.

so because I disagree with you, you resort to calling me names and sending nasty pms. Shame on you.

I can't for the life of me think what possible advantage this idea would have...even if it were possible....

So I disagree with you, you asked for comments and reasons and I gave them. I like my privacy whenever I am on the board I use invisible mode so only mods and admin can see me otherwise it is nobodys business what I read or don't read if I don't reply to some question. So I though your idea was a terrible one.

However if this option is ever offered, I hope invisible mode will work on that feature also.
