Hi  I recently downloaded Firefox as my browser to replace IE. however when I get an email with a web link in it it opens IE instead of firefox. any idea how I can change this and make Firefox my default?
I would rather keep IE as well as i do a bit of web site design and it is always useful for testing displays.

Thanks Dan, but this does not solve it. It is not with all email links, the one from Cybertechhelp saying you had replied opened Firefox!

At http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;271512, Microsoft describes this bug in OE 5.5. At http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q269093/, they describe the same bug in Outlook.
I'm encountering this on Win XP w/ SP2, using OE 6.00.something for my e-mail client. I've set Firefox 1.0 as my default browser. Clicking a hyperlink from an OE message opens my Avant Browser instead (an IE-based tabbed browser). Microsoft's suggested workarounds include going to a version of OE before 5.5, or copying the shortcut from your e-mail message and pasting it in your preferred browser. Both are annoying.:dizzy: :( :upset:

Oh well, I will have to keep copying and pasting. Trouble is I don't thin k my other half will always notice or be bothered.
Thanks anyway
