So whats been happening is that well basically win ME takes a pretty long time to start up now. when I first got my computer it started up really quickly and stuff, but after a while it takes a considerable time for it to start up.
It's especially noticable after it shows the Windows ME is starting up screen; you'll see the blinking typing cursor, and that screen usually only lasted for a few seconds. Now, it'll take around 20 seconds for it to keep going. This also happens when after you log on. I sign in to my profile, and after it plays the sound it stops for a few seconds. This also happens before shutdown.
The above problems are happening to my 2001 dell dimension 8200, 1.7 ghz, 512mb ram, NEC CD-RW, 64mb geforce 2. I've tried a few things like removing programs from the startup group, but it didnt do a lot.
Anyone think of anything?
