ToolBar Problems
I downloaded the MyWebSearch toolbar and love it and all its differant functions. The only thing is that i only have it on one browser page. If i open a new browser then the toolbar isnt there. I thought that going to the Veiw tab at the top of IE 6.0 would allow me to enable it, but its not even listed there on the new browser page i opened. Does any one have any idea what im doing wrong to only have this toolbar on one web browser page??

use Google toolbar with IE6 it's much better than any other toolbar
it never made such problem with me

Just so the first poster knows, MyWebSearch toolbar is spyware/adware and it hijacks your searches. Remove it, get Ad-aware and/or Spybot, update them and scan your system for spyware. If you want to completely be sure that the spyware is removed, download Hijackthis and post it in here, or yourself examine it and delete any suspicious entries, but beware that if you delete them you will not be able to get them back, so it is better that someone else looks at that Hijackthis log first just to make sure u don't delete anything important. If you want a good search toolbar get Google Toolbar or Yahoo! toolbar. I have google toolbar because of its great search and pop-up blocker and Yahoo toolbar, because of its great Anti-Spy program. All links are in my signature (in the bottom). Hope that helps.

Toolbar problems
Having instaled like a stupid the Mysearch bar i ask help to get rid of it.
I read the Icecube's advice and so i did.I downloaded the hijackthis and i did the scan,but not knowing what to delete i copy here the results of the scan so i can get some help.( i allready scanned the pc with adaware 6.0 but the mysearch bar is still there).

Installing the google toolbar
Which of the two options is recomended to install?
1) enable advanced features
2) disable advanced features

First of all the google toolbar. Advanced features sends anonymous info... (but it also includes page rank on every page). The other one is the original toolbar (which I use). Second of all. Run hijackthis! again, scan, check boxes next to following items and click on fix selected items:

And I searched for download accelerator on the net and it says it is spyware. Just so you know. Delete these and post a new hijackthis! log. Try to uninstall the search toolbar from Control Panel->Add/Remove programs. If you uninstall it remove everything else thats left from the things above. Hope this helps.

Having restarted my laptop and opening the internet explorer a pop up link comes out on the bottom of the page. So i guess i am still "infected" by the mysearchbar.I did evrything i was told but that keeps on playing with my nerves.The hijackthis.log is the one i wrote in the last thread. What else could i do,pls help me once more.

About the last one (regload.cab) - it may be what loads up and gives you that spyware... but it may be just a file for the program PalTalk... (not sure)For the xmijhp.exe file, I thought you removed it... Maybe it is a virus you are having... Or something that starts up at boot time and places that program there... As for the download accelerator, I just downloaded FreshDownload . I still haven't tried it but it says it comes with no spyware and it is free. I read on download.com that PalTalk comes with spyware... but it may be wrong because a lot of people post fake comments... Anyway... Delete the items above as the previous time and post a new hijackthis! log. If the same thing happens you may have to uninstall PalTalk (if it is the cause of the problems...).

i removed the the stuff you told but still i have the same problem.the popup link keeps on coming up every time i enter the IE.Then i tried to remove paltalk but with no success showing the this sequence of windows : "cannot load language" " could not open configuration file : C:\program files\paltalk\irunin.dat" "could not config file". I tried also to remove it from the unistall file it has in the program,but still nothing.
oh and something i forgot to tell you. After i remove the stuff you told me before in the next scan i find always the :

Here's a simple solution:


Go up top to view and select toolbars. Uncheck MySearch or any toolbar you don't want on IE. Then go to tools and then internet options. Select the advance tab and deselect "enable third party browser extensions". Reboot your PC and give it a try.

I think i finally managed to get rid of the Mysearchbar popup link.How did i do it? I downloaded the ad-aware se and after a lot of scans now i have a clean pc.the mys searchbar was installed on its own (probably comes with the smileycentral installation something that i don't suggest to anyone).Anyway here is the hjt.log file just to be sure i am ok.
