Hello HossKFNS
Welcome to CTH
When you say all the time does this mean as soon as you connect,or after some period of time it disconnect you,I know that AOL will disconnect you if your idle, like when your writing email.
others will disconnect you so other can log more people on,they only have so many dial ups, that they use a timer to see if your there with your computer and if not then it will disconnect.

Or...you may have a very low quality phone line with tons of static...and...a modem that can't deal with it. This combonation will make it very difficult to connect to a server and/or stay connected. If this is the case you need to be talking with the people that provide the phone lines. Have them test and so forth. And...get a better modem, such as a 3Com.

Good luck.

It goes off right away before the homepage even begins to load up and the modem I use is a Lucent V90 I have also talked to the phone company and they say the line is fine but then when I talk to the tech peple and they call my modem they say huh that is interesting it just drops out of nowhere

I would probably think about getting rid of that win modem.
You might want to invest in a 3com modem they cost more but they are rock steady modems,I have had mine for sometime now and would not want to use anything else,if you dont want to invest that much money then your next best bet would be a creative blaster modem,we been using them in computers we build and not had to much problems with them and there easy to set up.

Before you ditch the modem completey have a look at this site .
This will give you help in checking the settings of your modem, upgrading drivers (firmware) and generally explaining why this modem is a problem.

It is interesting to note that some modems have difficulty communicating with different makes at the ISP end, but since you say you have tried a few different ISP's I doubt it is their hardware that is at fault.
(Ironside - I do agree, Lucent chipset does = a crap modem but it CAN work if it's given a bit of help)

Oh that does make a differance I would call your phone company again, this sounds like a problem through your phone lines, could be anything like static to line noise, they can run a test and see if it there problem but you really have to keep bugging them,I had a problem here every time it rains i couldnt get online.

What other telecommunications equipement do you have connected to your home line?
Phone, Cordless phone, Answering machine, fax??
Disconnect them all, go on line and see if it fixes it. Then plug them back in one at a time and see if any makes a difference.

a lot of places i've lived, i've had to have a filter put on the phone line.. i tell them soon as i order the service that i'm using my phone for data transmission and i need an absolutely clean line!

Lucent modems are, as someone earlier said.. crap, M.O.O.. I'd switch to zoom or 3com or anything but a lucent. *smile*. They are very sensitive to any type of 'noise' including, I think, to the tv being too loud. I swear, have had nothing but trouble from Lucent modems, but have had my Zoom for 4 years now, in 3 different computers, and it's still going strong!
