Fellow Modem Users,

Just read a review of the program: Modem Booster from WinCentral and decided to download the program even after 50 of 90 people reviewing the product trashed its capabilties. (50 of 90?, hmmm 5 of 9?, sounds like Supreme Court decision ratios) Anyway, my review would be with the Courts, I mean the users (sorry) majority: not impressed at all.

As a result, I thought that I would find out, once and for all, if any, specifically: 3Com, U.S. Robotics, 56k modem users have had experience with packaged utilities like the Modem Booster.

Are they simply a waste of time?

Is it better to just tweak the settings via the Registry? or,
TweakAll? or,
X-Teq?

I have numerous dialups that are forever being deleted and added as FISPs mutate and evolve, so, I am looking for something that may be able to find the optimuum settings on the fly?

Is there such a beast or am I barking up the wrong MaxMTU?

Sifting through tea leaves,

hello
I been refraining from saying anything, but no one else is speaking up.
I have cable now, been on it for the last 6months.
but from my experience I can tell you I tried all the above programs and settings with out ever having any better luck,I always went back to default settings.
so my uptake is get your dunns set to your own specifications.

I have placed this topic on several forums to max my input. No biggie here.
