Can anyone recommend a utility that will identify applications running hidden in the background. My system )P3-800) has started freezing up while on the internet after about 7-8 mouse clicks. Stays frozen for about 30 seconds that resumes. After after 7-8 more clicks it happens again and so on and so on. I have re-installed IE 5.5 twice with no improvement. Suspect I might have picked up a bug attached to a download (I download alot). FYI, I am on a DSL connection which operator says is running within specs. I also haven't changed my mouse or any settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, in advance.

Hi,

Myself, I use "Startup Manager", a freeware off the internet. I've run it on both win95 and win98se. This will allow you to see what it running in the background as well as to be able to disable them. Nice program. Get it here: http://www.delphifreestuff.com/

Another program I hear alot about is "Startup Cop".
