View Full Version : Problem With A Program

The Adult literacy group I volunteer for has a problem with one of its computers. (Actually, they have a whole bunch of problems, but let's take them one at a time.)

They are running WIN2k on a network with about 8 computers. When a particular program is accessed an initial logon screen comes up. After identifying the user, and giving a password, the program opens. On one particular computer, however, this doesn't always occur.
On the one computer, after identifying the user and giving the password, the computer may end the program and return to the desktop window; or it may hang and go no further; or it may start the program.

The most peculiar thing is that, if instead of logging on to the computer as the normal user would, one logs on as the Administrator, there are no problems in logging on to the program as the normal user.

I have checked the properties of the desktop shortcut, and nothing seems different on this computer from the others in the network. I have also tried to run the program without using the desktop shortcut, but that didn't change the results.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be happening, and where to look for the answer?
