Hmmmmmm, I never use that function anyway. I just go to the directory with the download and double click it there.

Question: Dose that happen on every download?

hi smurfy.

this is not for my system. actually i do a lot of work around town for people with systems problems. the reason - to gain experience because i want to shift into systems and networking. i cannot afford courses which are expensive here. i've already spent all my savings on them now. so to get real-time practical experience, i just go about troubleshooting people's problems, sometimes without a fee, at times they pay me a nominal fee which helps cover just about my internet and other related expenses.

the forums are a good resource for me to share information with tech savvy people who have good practical experience. that way i can learn a lot and whatever little i can contribute, i do.

so don't be confused if you see me talking about platforms and systems with a multitude of software on them. networking is something i've done a little more extensively and so can make do with most issues (with a little help from a friend). but when it comes to individual system problems, i do not claim extensive in-depth knowledge.

this particular problem i've not come across before and so it's posted here.

thanks for having helped me out numerous times before and maybe we can solve this one too.

have a nice day.

As an aside, since you've given us a bit of info about yourself, and now that we know that your questions won't allways pertain to your own system, could you try to include as many system specs for each problem as you can.
Operating system version, hardware specs etc. All can be relevant (as I'm sure you are learning).

Incidentally, open folder option button after download is working fine on my W95a system with IE5.5. Has it had the IE5.5 SP1 installed?
