Hello:
My Sony computer running Win ME suddenly won't let me do no work and keeps typing "dddddddddddddd" non-stop. My Norton program scans the system as virus-free. The system started doing this with Microsoft Word, but now, the problem spreads everywhere else, at the URL bar with Internet Explorer, anywhere there is room to type; with any program I attempt to use, the computer looks for a program beginning with "D". This really drives me crazy. Is anyone aware of something like that, and do you know of any fix? Please help me as I am getting desperate. Thank you.

Welcome aboard !!!

Can't say for sure, but it sounds like the 'd' on your keyboard may be stuck or the keyboard is on its way out.
Power off the PC and disconnect the keyboard and give it a cleaning.
Turn it over and lightly tap it, so that any loose particles comes out.
You may want to invest in a can of compressed air and use it to clean out the keyboard.
Also, it won't hurt the keyboard if it is wiped down with a damp cloth.

After all this connect the keyboard back up to the PC and see if the problem is solved. It also sometimes help to tap the problem key a few times to unstick it.
