Little Red "x's" where there should be pix

Okay... I have little red "x's" in some of the ads and pictures on the net and emails I receive... any idea what it is I need to correct this little malfunction? Do I need to download an update or something?

If that doesn't do it, make sure scripting, ActiveX controls, cookies, and Java applets are enabled in Internet Explorer.
