I'm trying to format my harddisk, but I can't seem to get into dos and still be able to go to c:

I've downloaded the dos versions 5.00 and 6.22 from bootdisk.com.

Does anyone know why these dosses don't seem to support my harddisk?

If anyone knows a better way to format my harddisk...it would also be very helpful.

thx

Your drive is probably NTFS. NTFS it is not accessible in DOS using a standard DOS or Windows 98/ME boot disk. I beleive the Ultimate Boot Disk (http://www.startdisk.com/Web1/ubd/ubd.htm) will allow you to access an NFTS drive to format it. There's also this (http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/ntfsdospro.shtml) program. I'm sure if you search around you can find one that will work for you.
