Hi jmartens2,

The reason your computer is trying to get back online (after you
hang-up the modem) is because you have MSN running in the
System Tray.

To get the error to stop you have to make sure you shut off MSN
before you hang-up your modem.

MSN is here...

Shut it off like this...

Spider, going off topic a bit here, but how do you get all your programs to appear above the clock, like you are showing here?

Dave.

We want to check your version of IE. This will tell us where you stand
as far as versions of libraries and *.dll(dynamic link libraries) you have.
To do this;
Open IE in the menu
Help/About Internet Explorer
The first thing that is under the Internet Explorer logo is
Version:*.**.****.****

What Version number are you showing?

Let's try looking for spyware(programs installed behind your
back that constantly send info back n' forth).

Go to Lavasoft and get Ad-Aware. It's free and does a
great job of cleaning out spyware.
