I just purchased a Dell Laptop from a business that was closing. The owner said it had NT and he had started a reformat but never finished. I want to install XP that I had on my desktop so I need help. I know I will have to change the partitions but since I can no longer use my 15 month old desktop because of lightning damage, can I use the disks for XP that came with my desk top pc to load XP onto the laptop? Please help. thank you.

if it is oem software for your desktop, may only have specific drivers for your desktop - may not have the specific ones for the laptop.

YES

A hard drive is a hard drive, regardless of whether it is a desk top or laptop.
