DigiChat & Java

I chat on a regular basis on a website that uses the DigiChat program(http://www.digichat.com) I also want to toss in this piece info before I explain my problem. DigiChat runs with Java.

Onto my problem. When I go to log into my chatroom at the website, a box appears for me to enter my sn. Instead of that box appearing now, I see a blank space outlined for where the box should be. The best way for me to describe it is that it looks like a photo is not appearing. I hope that makes sense.

I know this problem is with my computer. I've gone to multiple DigiChats but this happens at each site. I've refreshed and rebooted to the max but that's not much of a help. LOL I'm wondering if this has anything to do with Java? I've been using these chats for a year now and have had no problems like this.

Any thoughts? Hope this is not too much of a shot in the dark.

Thanks.

Raz

Hi,
Have you installed/Uninstalled any software recently?

If using IE
Have you upgraded IE?
Check that IE secuity settings are Medium
Download & Install from the Update site from Microsoft VM (Virtual Machine)

or you can download Java plug-in here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/jre/download-windows.html

Have you tried accessing the site/chat with Netscape or other browser?

I'm a little slow but I figured it out. Completley went over my head to try Netscape but it worked.

Any idea what is wrong with IE then? I just recently had to uninstall my IE and then reinstall it at version 6.0. I had dled Morpheus so I'm not sure if those problems were possibily connected.

Thanks so much! I really do appreciate you getting back to me so quickly.

Try a repair install of IE6.

Goto Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>
Choose to Remove Internet Explorer.

A dialogue box will appear giving the option to Repair.

I was going to post with similar problems.
I couldn't get into msn chat, and downlowding virtual machine did the trick.
Guess sometimes it pays to look at previous posts!
