I recently upgraded and have a MSI motherboard.I'm trying to install a radeon 9200se graphics card .Last time I did this on another computer I had to adjust a jumper setting to disable the onboard card before it would recognize the new one in the pci slot. The problem:I can't find any info on the jumper settings to do this .Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

Howdy:
If it isn't on the mobo, then the option to disable on-board graphics will be in BIOS !!
Also, some of the newer boards will auto-disable on-board graphics if they detect a card in the AGP slot..

I looked in the bios setup and didnt see anything regARDING THE ON BOARD CARD , NOR DO I HAVE AN OPTION TO DISABLE THROUGH THE DEVICE MANAGER IN WINDOWS .ANY DETAIL WOULD BE APPRECIATED(NOT FAMILIER WITH BIOS) whoops sorry for the caps .

What model MSI board is it.
What is the outcome if you plug the Radeon card (is it AGP or PCI?) in and connect the Monitor to it before booting - do you get a BIOS "beep" error code?

yup got the beep and no display , never did get the pci graphics card to work , had to get a agp card (think it was a jumper setting that was not allowing the board to read the pci card , and glory! no info anywheres on the jumper settings!) lord I gotta find a easier hobby , thanks for everyones input.I'm sure to be back again!

So am I reading right, you gave up on a PCI card, inserted an AGP card and it worked 1st time?

yes, the agp card worked the first time.after much research and hair pulling, as i said ,I finally determined that the only way to bypass the on board graphics and agp slot so the board would read a pci graphics card was jumper setting on the motherboard itself , but alas this info was not to be found anywhere.this is one of those instances where newer technology ends up costing you more money than saving it !
