can't stay connected?

I have IE5.5, WIN2000, SupraMax modem, and MSN ISP. My problem is that I can connect but only for 1-2 minutes. I am then "knocked off". I can not connect again(modem keeps ringing/makes noise that it doesn't make when I 1st sign on), also my PC sound is gone! I can only conect and retain PC sound bt re-booting my PC. Whats the prob? WIN2000? Modem? Soundcard? MSN? Can you help?

Could be almost any of the above

I don't think it's the soundcard, if you're getting different sounds it's either the modem or MSN.

Have you spoken to their technical support people about why you're getting booted so quickly? Could it be that the access number you're using is at fault?

I thought there was only 3 different posts of this same problem in 3 forums. I see there's 4 of them. This post is best suited for the Hardware and Overclocking forum, where one of the posts is.
