CPU Spikeage!!! (HELP)

Hi Im running Windows ME and 2000 but when I run Windows 2000 svchost.exe seems to spike up to 100% CPU usage:eek: and I cannot run any programs! I found out that It was spiking when I was playing Counter Strike on the net and then all the sudden it started to lag really badly. Any help would be much appreciated.
P.S. Also sometimes there is a process called System Idol or something like that and it also spikes.

Go into control panel>administrative>services and check the number of services loading auto at start up. You can then right click on a service and choose the setting auto, manual, or disable in the box.
