I am connected to ISP using LAN connection with a static IP address. when I wanted to assign a new DNS configuration for this connection, the following message is coming:
The IP address u have entered for this network adapter is already assigned to another adapter. It is hidden from the network connections folder because it is not physically in the computer. If the same address is assigned to both the adapters & they both become active, only one of them will use the address. This may result in incorrect system configuration.

Where can I find the other adapter & remove it so that the conflict can be avoided?

Is it a Seperate NIC or embedded into the motherboard.

Are you using Internet Connection Sharing?
What shows in Network Properties?
What shows in Device Manager?

Thanks degsy. I was away hence the delay.

Yeah, Internet sharing.
Network properties shows the same DNS nos I have configured latest.
Device manager shows I am connected to Motorola Surfboard Cable Modem.

There is no problem as of now but i am scared after seeing the pop up message that i have written above in blue.

What DNS Configuration are you trying to change?

Have you considered removing the NIC from Device Manager and reloading it from scratch?
Are you trying to change the Primary Connection or the ICS connection?

Also you could try releasing the connection from the network using IPCONFIG before trying to change the info.
