Can't read DVD9

Hi, there, my dvd-rom can only access dvd5 only. It can't access dvd9. Does someone have any solution?

Is that regions? If so, some dvdrom drives are factory set to read only one region in order that people can't use pirated dvd's from other countries in their dvdrom drives on computers.

Hi
Is not the region he is referring to,but the capacity of the dvd..ie dvd5=4.7 giga apx

As you dont mention the brand of yr dvd I can only suggest that you look at the specs ...or manufacturer's site for further info
Plextor copes with dvd9...did not record yet but was able to watch a recorded film in a dvd9

Hi, there, thanks for your response. I think it's not about the hardware, because under Linux, it can read dvd9, so the problem only appears if it's used under Windows. For information, the manufacturer is Lite On.
