Ok i'll get right to the point, ever since I installed my dsl router I havent been able to acess any email accounts, nor have I been able to upload anything to the internet such as pictures or other files, and other internet devices such as webcams, and internet gaming under gamespy.... now Im not very knowledgable about routers but I figure the router is the key to all these sudden problems? Now a friend of mine helped me fix the webcam problem but setting up this port number thing but I have no idea what to do about all the other problems... its soooo annoying having my internet access cripled like this! So if you can help please do and if you need more info i'll try to provide thanks again!

What are using for a router? Logon to the router and try to find any filter or firewall settings. That is most likely where your prolem lies. The settings for gamespy and the webcam will be a little trickier. Let's get the basics, like email and simple uploads, working first. Post back the info on your router and we'll go from there.

Ok the rouer is a DI-604 Broadband ethernet router.... ok updated, I spent like hours on the phone with the support people, they didnt know what they were doing lol, basically they told me to disconnect the router and connect my modem directly to the computer, now my email accounts work and I can upload pictures and the webcam is fine, soo the only thing is the gamespy until I can find someone to tell me how to fix the router... thanks for any help you can provide

I forgot to ask what kind of broadband connection you have (cable or DSL)?

I'll try to walk you through the router config.
1) Logon to the router
2) select WAN a) select the correct connection type :) (your ISP should be able to tell you, but as a general rule cable->dynamic, ADSL->PPPoE, Europe->other)
b) Select Clone MAC, then apply
3) Select LAN a) Change the IP to 192.168.10.10 and apply (REMEMBER THIS IP!) (This should avoid any conflict with the modem)
4) Select DHCP make sure it is enabled.
5) Select Advanced, then Filters a) Select IP filter and make none are enabled
b) Select MAC filter and make sure none are enabled
c) Select URL blocking and make sure none are blocked
d) Select domain blocking and make sure none are blocked
NOTE: These can be changed after things are working
e) apply
6)Select firewall, there should be 3 default rules, leave them enabled
Allow Allow to Ping WAN port WAN,* LAN,192.168.0.1 ICMP,8
Deny Default *,* LAN,* *,*
Allow Default LAN,* *,* *,*

7) Select DMZ and make sure its disabled
8) Select Tools then MISC a) enable Discard PING from WAN side
b) disable upnp
c) select 10/100Mbps Auto and apply
Now give it a try.

If it doesn't work, run ipconfig/all in a command window. Log onto the router and go to Status/device info and Status/log. Send me a personal message with the info from these 3 places.
