thanks in advance

Hi

Try downloading the missing file from your Win 98 disk.

To do this :-

START
RUN
Type SFC and hit ENTER
Choose to extract a file.
Type in the name of the file.
Choose the location you wish to extract the file from.
I think the next response is for you to reboot.

Cheers

I did everything you asked me to do, but for some reason the corrupted shell.dll is still there, it didn't replace or even restore it. I also tried manually, extracted the file, place it in another folder, and dragged it to the window/system folder, but it wouldn't allow me. it says that "cannot create or replace shell: the specified file is being used by windows." what should I do? :(

Hi

As an alternative try downloading the file from www.dll-files.com (http://www.dll-files.com).
