Monitor goes black running Adaware

Hello,
Everytime I run Adaware, the monitor goes blank during the scan; power remains on, but no visual. I've also had previous problems w/ System Restore, and have had to disable, then enable it. Got to the point where I used the emergency disk to reinstall the system. Any suggestions on the monitor problems?

Is it adaware that is doing it?
It could be that if you are leaving the PC during the scan then it is going into Standby.

What can you do when it happens? Do you have to reboot?


Have you tried reinstalling Adaware?

Thanks. Yes, the screen only goes blank when running the Adaware scan. I get nothing on screen when I reboot immediately. I then have to turn computer power off, and leave it for about 15-30 minutes. I"ve changed all the settings so that the comp doesn't go into Standby. I'm currently downloading Adaware again, and will reinstall. I've also run McAfee virus scan several times, and no viruses are found.
